This is the last leg of the Tour de Vietnam from Mống Cái to Cà Mau.  You will continue biking south on Highway 1A toward the towns of Cái Răng, Phụng Hiệp, Sóc Trắng, Bạc Liêu, and Cà Mau.

You will continue to bike along land that is relatively flat.  A famous river, Cửu Long, runs through this area.  While the riding distance is long, 174 km, the area is generally rural.  Other than small towns, you will see mostly fields of lush green rice paddies and fields of fruit bearing trees on both sides of the road.  There are many small river tibutaries that run through the terrain in which you will cross via small bridges.  As of 2005, Highway 1A that you ride on in this leg is currently undergoing expansion.  More lanes are being built to better accommodate both large and small vehicles.  The expansion will help ease congestion and allow both vehicles and pedestrians to more safely share the road with one another.  The city of Cà Mau, itself, lies within Highway 1A and Highway 63.  Once you reached this city, you will know that you are near the southern tip of Vietnam.  After many days on the road, you and your fellow bike partners have made it.   Congratulations!  You have completed the trans-Vietnam bike trip.

As a side note, in the south, the regulations for transport are different from North Vietnam.  As we found out, Vans are regulated to carry either materials or people, not both.  In 2005, after having completed the trans-Vietnam bike ride, our group ended up renting a van to drive our bikes back and another van to take us back to Sài Gòn.
