Leg No. 15:  Ðà Lạt-Bảo Lộc (111 km)

You will leave Ðà Lạt and head southwest on Highway 20 toward the towns of Liên Nghĩa, Di Linh, and Bảo Lộc.

There are a lot of hills on this ride.  But unlike the previous leg, the hills will be toward your back side.  Yes, you will be descending down the highland slopes.  Upon leaving the town of Ðà Lạt, you will journey down the mountain range of Prenn, a 10 km steep descent that allows you to reach speeds as high as 65 km/hr (40 miles/hr).  Safety is important, so use caution when descending down this slope.  At the bottom of the mountain is a small townlet that you can find place to rest and relax before continuing on to the town of Bảo Lộc.  Along the way to Bảo Lộc, there are many small rolling hills that you will have to descend and climb.  On this ride, you will continue to stay on Highway 20 until you reach the town of Bảo Lộc.  Bảo Lộc is a small, quiet town.  There is a small scenic lake that is situated in the middle of the town.  Try to get as much rest as you can in Bảo Lộc.  The ride in to HCM the next day will be the last biking leg and also the longest biking day of the entire trans-Vietnam bike ride.
