Leg No. 6:  Rạch Giá-Châu Ðốc (119 km)

You will leave Rạch Giá and head North-West of Highway 80 to the towns of Hòn Ðất, Kiên Lương, and Hà Tiên.  Highway 80 is a wide and relatively safe to bike.  After passing through the town of Hòn Ðất, approximately 15 kilometers thereafter, you must detour across the "8 Ngàn" bridge into the provincial road "Kênh 8 Ngàn".  From the "Kênh 8 Ngàn" road, you will continue on to the town of Tri Tôn.  The road to Tri Tôn runs adjacent to the "Kênh 8 Ngàn" River.  On one side of this road is the river and on the other side are rice fields and tree farms.

Also, while biking on this road you will see hills stretching beyond the rice paddlies and trees.  The intertwining colors of the lush green rice paddlies and colorful foliage from native plants and flowers lie below the green covered hills make this an indelible scenic experience.  Don't forget to take few pictures to preserve the memories.

When you approach the provincial road 948, don't forget to veer left toward the town of Chi Lăng.  About 10 km past Chi Lăng, you will turn right onto Highway 91 toward the towns of Nhà Bàng and Châu Ðốc.  There are some small hills that you have to climp to get to highway 91.  The town of Châu Ðốc lies next to Hậu River. Châu Ðốc, itself, is a popular tourist town.
