This marks the second leg of the trans-Vietnam bike ride.  Like the first leg, this leg is intentionally planned to be a short ride, so that you can become better acquainted physically and mentally with traveling by bike on a Vietnam highway.

On this leg, you will continue riding on Highway 18.  In the first half of the leg, you will find yourself on a narrow road with very little congestion.  As you bike towards the town of Cam Pha, the road will suddenly widen up and become increasingly congested with heavy duty vehicles.  Be extra vigilant when riding in this town as there are many heavy-duty coal carrying trucks on the road.  Coal is a major industry in this town.  These trucks couple with the hazy coal congested air makes riding on the road extremely hazardous.  So, be careful when riding through this town.

The town of Ha Long boasts sceneries that are breathtaking.  There are sceneries here that you will not find in any other part of the world.  Take a day to rest from biking to enjoy and visit these famous sites at Ha Long Bay.
