Leg No. 7:  Vinh-Kỳ Anh (100 km) or Vinh-Kỳ Nam Commune (130 km).

On this leg, you will continue biking southbound on Highway 1A toward the towns of Hồng Lĩnh, Nghèn, Cày, Hà Tĩnh, Cẩm Xuyên, and Kỳ Anh.

This bike leg touches upon the narrow span of Vietnam.  In this leg, the sceneries are more beautiful.  The ranges of Trường Sơn can be observed on this part of the trip.  There are some small hills to climb on this leg that will lead to the first major hill of the ride, Ðèo Ngang, which will not be climbed until the following leg.  Ðèo Ngang is a 10 km hill climb.  Ky Anh is a small town.  There is a small guest house named "Nhà Nghỉ Bộ Công An" that can be used for resting at night.  Don't expect full service at "Nhà Nghỉ Bộ Công An" except you have full view of Milky Way Galaxy.  If you opt for a hotel, then Hoành Sơn hotel at Kỳ Nam commune is where you want to stay for the night.  This hotel is located an approximately 20 km south of Kỳ Anh town and adjacent to Highway 1A.  The Hoành Sơn hotel is situated on the beach, and there is a seafood restaurant next door.  The beach is good for swimming and relaxing.  Incidentally, Hoang Son hotel is located near the foot of Ðèo Ngang, which is the most strenuous part of the following day ride.
